Mind, Body and Day Spa.

Posted in Lifestyle

The ultimate girl’s day out includes magic words such as champagne, facial, spa am I right?

I was at a friend’s house a few weeks back sitting around their kitchen bench; red wine in hand and planning our next girls’ catchup. The boys (our hubbies) started planning a whiskey event. Perfect boys date. The girls will look after the children and the boys can chill and enjoy their night off. It was at that point my genius friend came up with the idea of why not plan our own girls night out. Why not indeed? While we’re at it, let’s make it spectacular. With smiles from ear to ear all our dreams and plans started to take shape. And nothing sounds better than a day-spa trip toย one of my favourite establishments: Keturah Day Spa.

Now I’m a girl who likes the finer things in life! Give me any opportunity to go indulge and I will take it. I have been to many day spas before. I would enjoy the massage, but I would usually find there is always something small that would definitely need a little bit more attention. Keturah though, was pretty much faultless. I have not been paid or anything to write this post, so you know everything said here is as honest as it could get! By the way IF anyone reading this will offer to pay for my future facials, I am happy to say, I will accept!

Back to my story. We walked in and were greeted by a beautifully dressed lady, who almost reminded me of an airhostess. We were offered a delicious cup of tea, while filling in a questioner our respective treatment.

So far tick, tick, tick.

It covered off on things like facial and body analysis, if I was interested in any potential upgrades, any extra info I might want to know. My favorite question though, was what level of conversation I was interested to have during my treatment? That impressed me. Not all people like talking like I do. Plus I was there with my friend so I have to consider that too.

Soon afterwards we where ushered to the change rooms. Already I start to notice how classy this place is. Beautifully lit everywhere and everything smelt so good and they were clearly playing on the senses. The change rooms where perfect and clean. We had a locker each with a beautiful cozy robe to change into and slippers, just like a hotel stay. We were provided with disposable undies and bra. Now these things always make me laugh, and I must admit the ones at Keturah actually cover you up a bit. I was given a pair at another spa once before that I might as well have worn them on my head as they covered Nothing!!! Poor therapist!

We got changed and waited in a lounge area, with a nice cup of tea till our therapists and our room was ready. Roughly 10 minutes later the sliding door opened and a stunning lady ” Tess” called my name. I took one look at her and thought, heck if I look like this gorgeous girl after my treatment, I will came back here weekly!!! I would have loved to say daily but this already will cost me an arm and a leg.

Off to the couples room we went , my friend to one side and I to the other, ready to be dotted on from head to toe literally!

A relaxing โ€œtop to toeโ€ rescue! Full body exfoliation, gentle massage to soothe the nervous system, calm the mind and relieve built up tension and stress. The treatment is completed with a customised Keturah Signature Facial with a de-stressing scalp massage and much needed foot massage. BLISS.

Now, I was trying so hard to remember everything I heard, smelt and felt during this time, just so that I can write this post for you, but alas after the first 10 minutes in there I switched off and really began to feel like a princess. All I remember was that the music was heavenly, the massage was perfect and the gorgeous Tess, put my slippers on for me at the end of my treatment.

You would think, this is it wouldn’t you, but no. Again after this luxury treatment for two hours we sat in the waiting room, drank champagne, ate lots of nuts (we were starving), and chilled out some more. While sitting there I chatted away to other people who were waiting for their treatments. There was a mum and daughter couple using there Mother’s Day gifts, a gentleman who was gifted an early Father’s Day treat, ( lucky guy!), and more.

I hope their experiences were as devine as mine .

Keturah, I will be back, very soon I hope! You were worth every cent.
