Stix Bar-restaurant review

Posted in Food

If you haven’t experienced this restaurant yet you must be living in the “STIX” . Boom! Yes, I worked on this line, for a few days now. Did you like it?

Stix bar is a gem in the Burswood Penninsula. Hidden away from all the hustle and bustle of this crazy world we live in. Personally I am a bit jealous of the people who live in that suburb. To have a restaurant like this so close, to walk to is a dream.

From the moment we walked through those doors, we were instantly greated with warm and beautiful smiles. The ambiance of the place was beautiful. It was immediately clear the owners had placed great emphasis in creating a space that allows the diner to be relaxed while enjoying both the scenery and each others company. The room itself was to die for, beautiful and warm. This was enhanced by a beautiful flame heater that was anchored in the corner; a perfect way to enjoy a cold winter night. Simple additions to this restaurant make it warm, cosy and inviting. Finding this place was like a little secret treasure.

Customer service experience:

It was my friend’s birthday, and they had raved about this Restaurant so much that they were prepared to come back just one week after their first visit. The staff knew we were here for our friends birthday so they added extra decor to our table. Simple touches, but obvious enough for the guest to feel extra special. You can see the beautiful light decorations they placed on our table in the below photo.

The waitress was more than accommodating. Doting over us and the birthday boy. The highlight of my night though, was when I ordered my coffee. I don’t know about you, but I have a thing with coffee and my desert coming at the same time, or very close to each other. I have been disappointed so many times with this. The gap or wait time has been so long previously, that it pretty much puts me off rather than topping off my night. I made a bit of a comment to the wait staff, expressing my past pet peeve to them. I couldn’t believe it , but I had two waiters come at exactly the same time and count to three to place both coffee and desert together. It was soooooo cute, I could have hugged them. Totally made my night.

The only teeny weeny thing to watch out for, was the parking. My hubby and I had no issue as we got there in perfect time, but my friend had to wait a bit to find a parking spot. Easily solved, get there early!

I did my usual toilet check , hehe, and yes it was clean. Phew. The staff all presented well and both the owner and his wife made a point of chatting to us and making sure that we were looked after. The beautiful bar table, which by the way has a story of its own looked fantastic and it was great to see that whatever the eye could see was all tidy and clean.

The food, “get to the food”, I hear you say…

The MENU is attached here for your reference and below are details of what I ordered:

1x Duck Parfait – I have never liked duck parfait, but my god that was magnificent. What do you expect from a french chef? The best of course. OUI OUI.

1x 7 hour – slow cooked – Oyster blade beef. YUM, YUM AND MORE YUM. Have you picked the phone up yet and dialled the number to book your spot?

1x French Martini – shaken not stirred. I just wanted to say that really. I just ordered it because it had the word french in it. I have a slight french addiction.

1x Creme brûlée with coffee .

This month the restaurant is celebrating their one year anniversary. Cue the “ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh”. Click HERE and check out some of the extra specials they have going on. I also know they are celebrating the French “Bastille day” , that I am sure would be a huge hit too 😋.

This gorgeous place is open for breakfast and dinner most days of the week. Make sure you call and book so that they can look after you too.

Would I go back and recommend this to others?

I think its pretty obvious that my answer is yes. I know that one of the couple who were with us are already planning to go back in a few weeks.

Overall rating: 4.7 star out of 5.
