Yummy for my Tommy

Posted in Food

Yes, that’s right. It’s not a spelling mistake. I know the difference between Tummy and Tommy!

This time I want to tell you about another treasure I found called Tommy Sugo. This is a spaghetti and Espresso bar. An Italian dream. Tommy, is slang for Tomato and Sugo, is Italian for sauce. Aren’t you just loving this already.

Back in March 2015, an episode of Shark Tank, aired here in Australia. This show is all about clever people, with clever ideas, asking for some capital so they can continue to grow their dream. Two men, rocked up and tried their luck and voila, were lucky enough to get some capital to get bigger and better. I love watching that show, who knows, I might come up with some genius idea too???

I’m told that the whole idea of Tommy Sugo grew over many family dinners. Really this is usually where some of the best ideas come up. What starts as a dinner conversation, turns into an idea, then into a plan and finally a success story. Add a bit of Vino into the mix and everyone becomes a winner.

The thing is though, Nathan, Joel and Sam didn’t just want to open just another Italian restaurant. They wanted real pasta and real Sicilian snacks to be served to the people of Perth. Normal Italian, well anyone can cook this at home really, But authentic italian, now that my friends is what you can expect here at this amazing place.

I will be honest, I have personally walked past this spaghetti bar many times here in Westfield Carousel but had never tried the food. Until one day…. Oh God, if only I could add some music at this time. One day, I stopped and took the plunge.

The ARANCINI BALLS ! Holy Moly. WOW, WOW, AND MORE WOW. The day I tried these, I had my hubby and kids with me. My, little Mr 7 years old, actually said, that he would rather come here and eat these than going to Macdonald’s. That is pretty much the statement of the year. This kid only ever wants to eat chocolate, so trust me this is huge!!! You must try the pumpkin and feta, oh wait and the cheesy one. They are just Devine.

Oh but wait there is more, we tried Nutella balls. Just imagine, nutella oozing from the inside of a small donut ball, and dipped in more nutella afterwards. I need these in my life RIGHT NOWWWWWWW. Top this with a super dooper coffee and you will be in heaven.

The best thing about this place, is you can grab the delights I just described for your lunch, go and do some shopping and then come back and grab some pasta for dinner. They even have a breakfast range too.

You can choose to eat there or even take some goodies and prep at home. Who is going to look like a star tonight then hey, wink wink :). You can also come back another day grab a superb coffee and breakfast while you’re at it. Seriously this place ticks all the boxes.
